Responsibilities & Context
Malteser International (MI) is the humanitarian relief agency of the Sovereign Order of Malta, providing relief and recovery in conflict and disaster-affected areas for over 60 years. Rooted in Christian values and humanitarian principles, MI works across more than 30 countries in Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, supporting people in need regardless of religion, origin, or political views.
Since 2017, MI has been operational in Bangladesh through local partner organizations. MI’s program is structured around three key pillars:
- Health and Nutrition Support: Focused on Rohingya refugees in Cox’s Bazar, supporting both refugees and host communities affected by the refugee influx.
- Localization Program: Strengthening local humanitarian actors’ capacities in response, preparedness, coordination, and advocacy across various regions of Bangladesh.
- Resilience Development Project: Aimed at enhancing the resilience of vulnerable populations in North, West, and East Bangladesh through a network of four partner organizations.
For its ongoing Cox’s Bazar program, implemented through local partners, MI is seeking a skilled and dedicated Finance Coordinator. The role includes:
- Supporting and guiding partner organizations to comply with German Federal Foreign Office (GFFO) and MI regulations.
- Monitoring financial project implementation, reviewing partner finance reports, accounting systems, and documentation.
- Providing assistance to partner finance staff.
